Eddie Jones leads the England Squad to yet another successful home win against Ireland this weekend in preparation for the Rugby World Cup.
This weekend we took The Green Room back to Twickenham Stadium where we watched the final home warm-up game before England head to the Rugby World Cup. As guests entered The Green Room they were welcomed with a refreshing drinks reception, including cold Champagne and Guinness. Perfect for the hot weather we'd say! Upon entry, rugby legends Lawrence Dallaglio and Ben Kay were there for guests to mingle with and get those all important photos with.
Our fantastic host, Mark Durden-Smith, kickstarted the day with an exciting Q&A with former England player, Will Greenwood, and Rugby World Cup Winning Head Coach, Sir Clive Woodward OBE. Both rugby legends discussed the prospects for the current England team winning the upcoming World Cup tournament in Japan and shared their opinions on the game ahead. Mark even asked Clive why former England rugby player David Flatman didn’t make his 2003 World Cup Squad – luckily Flats took his response very well!
Mark then invited Hospitality Finder Brand Ambassador Lawrence Dallaglio OBE in addition to former England rugby players Ben Kay MBE and David Flatman to join him on stage prompting a lot of banter about a similarity they all share… their hair loss issues! After the banter from the panelists on stage and Mark firing questions at them about the game ahead, the World Cup and their rugby careers, he scoped the room searching for our Friends of The Green Room.
Joining us for the game was current trainer Jonjo O’Neill accompanied by his wife Jacqui. Jonjo shared with our guests what he thought was a good tip for the horse racing taking place throughout the day. Our motor sport ambassador Johnny Herbert, DJ Seb Fontaine, Former heptathlete Kelly Sotherton and English Netball plater Eboni Usoro-Brown were also in attendance on the day.
Along with our celebrity guests, Mark took the opportunity to do a few special mentions including one of our guests who was celebrating her birthday with us inside The Green Room, and even congratulated one of our younger guests on his GCSE’s before their 3 course lunch!

Unlike our traditional winter games, guests swapped out their coats and scarves for sunglasses and sun cream as they made their way to their seats to watch the game.
England immediately jumped ahead of their opponents very early on in the game and managed to secure a 22 – 10 lead against Ireland by half-time. With England under pressure to retain the momentum and further their lead, which they did. England ran in eight tries in a resounding 57-15 victory!
With our England fans in high spirits they returned to The Green Room for the post-match refreshments and a final Q&A with our legends. Bringing Flats, Kay and Dallaglio back to the stage, Mark Durden-Smith discussed with them how England managed to jump ahead of their opponents so early on and why they were able to keep their lead.
One lucky Irish fan joined the guys on stage where they had the opportunity to share their point of view of the game before we were joined by our post-match player, George Kruis. George was questioned about the game, his performance, what went well and where he thought Ireland missed opportunities. Plus, he was asked for his insider thoughts about the forthcoming tournament as he is part of the squad heading to Japan for the Rugby World Cup.
Guests were in no rush to leave as they took advantage of the complimentary bar and the chance to mingle with our famous faces!
