The World Rugby Players of the Year will be back in 2017, following the reveal of the nominees. Each year one Woman's Rugby player and one Men's Rugby player will win this prestigious award, chosen by a panel of Rugby coaches and players.

This year England and British & Irish Lions stars have made the cut, with Owen Farrell nominated for the second year running. Following a successful year starting for all five tests in England's victorious Six Nations, he has reached 50 caps for England and started the three tests contributing 31 points with the Lions that lead to a thrilling series draw in New Zealand.

The second English star to be nominated is English and Lions player Maro Itoje, awarded breakthrough player in 2016 he continued with an impressive form throughout 2017. Part of the successful England team in the Autumns in 2016, he then played alongside Farrell in the Six Nations, helping England gain their
second victory for two years in a row. This lead to him being picked for the Lions tour this summer.

Both the players have made an appearance in Hospitality Finder's ultra-exclusive hospitality suite The Green Room, following a brilliant performance in the Autumn Internationals 2016 where England beat Australia, Argentina and Samoa to finish the test series unbeaten.

The two players have been nominated alongside former winner Beauden Barrett and Rieko Ioane from New Zealand and Australian player Israel Folau. They have been selected by an esteemed panel including Rugby World Cup winners Richie McCaw, John Smit, George Gregan, Maggie Alphonsi and Green Room resident & Rugby World Cup winning Head Coach Sir Clive Woodward.

The awards will take place on the 26th November at the Salle des Etoiles, Monte Carlo, where we will find out which player will be victorious.

You can see these two nominees in the England squad when the play Wales and Ireland in the Six Nations 2018
