The BT Murrayfield Stadium has been the home of Scottish Rugby ever since it first opened in 1925. It’s an all seated, all covered stadium situated in the Corstorphine district of Edinburgh and is the largest and most impressive stadium in Scotland and sixth largest in the UK, with a capacity of 67,130.
The stadium hosts a number of rugby events annually. It’s used for most Scottish international rugby union matches, with all Scotland's Six Nations and Autumn International home games being played there. It’s also the home to Edinburgh Rugby and has previously hosted several Rugby World Cup matches in 1991, 1999 and 2007.
With its mammoth capacity and state-of-the-art facilities, Murrayfield is also known as one of the most prestigious stadiums in Europe, staging concerts from some of the music world's biggest names, including The Rolling Stones, U2 and Live 8.
What are the best seats at Murrayfield?
So, what and where are the best seats at Murrayfield?
Firstly, there really are no ‘bad’ seats at Murrayfield so there’s no need to worry about missing a kick, try or conversion. The stadium has two tiers of seating on all four stands. The West and East stands run along the length of the pitch whilst the South and North are situated behind the posts.
If you’re looking for a great view of the entire action on the pitch then the top tier may be the best option for you, however, if you get a buzz from being up close to the pitch and players, then a seat in the bottom tier is where you’ll need to be. It’s worth noting a 100m running track runs in front of the West stand meaning you are a little further from the pitch so do bear that in mind.
If you are looking to be wined and dined whilst sitting in the prime seats of Murrayfield then corporate hospitality facilities are the perfect option for you and are available in all stands apart from the East. We here at Hospitality Finder offer a number of packages for rugby fans who want that VIP experience. Either soaking up the atmosphere within the Thistle Suite and being treated to champagne receptions and three-course meals to dining in the new Centenary Lounge which is linked to the stadium where you can access luxurious padded seats to watch the game.
