Sports Week: Lewis Hamilton Achieves Third World Championship Title

Welcome to this week's edition of Sports Week; your one-stop shop for all of the biggest sporting headlines from the past week. This week we're taking a look at the Rugby World Cup Semi Finals results, NFL UK and Lewis Hamilton's continued reign in F1 as World Champion.

Lewis Hamilton Achieves Third
World Championship Title

Over the weekend, Lewis Hamilton raced to victory at the US Grand Prix, not only securing the race win, but has impressively matched Ayrton Senna's three World Championship titles.

Hamilton, who now has 43 career victories compared to Senna's 41, said: "It is a very humbling experience to equal Ayrton Senna who inspired me and still does today.

"For me the target was always to get the three Ayrton had. I don't know what's coming next. There is no-one else I want to equal or emulate."

Australia and New Zealand in RWC Final

Two of the best rugby teams in the world have proved their worth and have made it into the Rugby World Cup Final. Both New Zealand and Australia overcame their Semi Final opponents, South Africa and Argentina respectively, to secure their places in one of the toughest finals in World Cup history.

Currently New Zealand hold the Rugby World Cup title and are predicted to be the first team to achieve the title for two competitions in a row. The question is can Australia overcome the mighty All Blacks and take the title from their grasp? You can find out on Saturday 31st October when the two teams battle it out at Twickenham Stadium, the Home of Rugby.

Jacksonville Jaguars 34 v 31 Buffalo Bills

Views

On Sunday Wembley Stadium welcomed the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Buffalo Bills for the second of three NFL UK fixtures. Fans flocked to the stadium for an unmissable game between the Jaguars and the Bills.

The Bills came from behind with 28 unanswered points to lead with two minutes remaining but Allen Hurns' diving touchdown sealed a 34-31 win. The win was the Jaguars' first Wembley win in three attempts.

The third and final NFL UK fixture will be between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Detroit Lions on 1st November.
