Sports Week: Murray takes double win at Queen's

Welcome to the very first edition of Sports Week; your one-stop shop for all of the biggest sporting headlines from the past week.

Murray Takes Double Win At Queen's

Andy Murray wowed audiences at the Queen's Club over the weekend with a spectacular double win at this year's AEGON Championships. The former Wimbledon champion made it to the Semi-Finals but due to rain the match was delayed.

Murray continued his Semi-Final match on Sunday against Viktor Troicki, where he beat him 6-3 7-6 (7-4. Before the Scot could even think about celebrating his Semi-Final victory, he was back on court up against Kevin Anderson in the Final. Murray went on to achieve his fourth AEGON Championship title and is looking ahead to Wimbledon.

"It's great preparation obviously, but I think it has only happened six times where someone has won Queen's and gone on to win Wimbledon..."

"...there are no guarantees that winning here gives you a Wimbledon title." - Andy Murray

Jordan Spieth Makes US Open History

Jordan Spieth became the fourth-youngest player to win two majors and the sixth to win the Masters and US Open in the same year.

"I'm in shock but I feel for Dustin," said Spieth. "It's cool to be able to have two legs of the grand slam now, and to conquer golf's hardest test - the US Open is conquering the hardest layout in all of golf. "I didn't have my best ball-striking at all and really grinded over those four or five-footers - that was the difference."

Rosberg v Hamilton - The Rivalry Continues After Austrian GP

Lewis Hamilton lost out on his sixth win of the season after team mate Nico Rosberg overtook him at the starting line. Hamilton was on pole position after qualifying but it was not enough for the Brit to achieve first place success in Austria.

Rosberg dominated the race from the start causing Hamilton to battle against his Mercedes team mate for first place but was not given the chance due to a crash between Alonso and Raikkonen. Both drivers were unhurt when the McLaren ended up on top of the Ferrari.

"Nico did a fantastic job," said Hamilton. "He was quicker in the race. I had a bad start but after that l was pushing as hard as l could."

England Achieve 3-2 ODI Series Win Against New Zealand

England managed to follow their disappointing World Cup performance with some excellent one-day displays against New Zealand. Captain Eoin Morgan described their 3-2 series win as 'everything we've strived for over the past few years.'

"We've come out of left-field," said skipper Morgan. "We've managed to deliver some entertaining cricket.

"Let's hope going into the Ashes that we maintain that level." - Eoin Morgan

The home side displayed some fantastic performances throughout the series including a huge record breaking game at Edgbaston Cricket Ground.
