British MotoGP at Silverstone 2010Event ReviewSaturday 19th & Sunday 20th June 2010The British MotoGP at Silverstone is one of the most exhilarating sporting events on the calendar. Renowned worldwide for consistently giving avid fans action packed races, MotoGP produces countless overtaking manoeuvres throughout the field as well as numerous crashes whenever the bikes are out on track , like crowd favourite Valentino Rossi’s spectacular crash which left him injured and unable to race at Silverstone.These incredible two-wheeled machines can reach mind boggling speeds around the newly redesigned Silverstone circuit whilst over 145,000 spectators roar their favourite drivers on through the Grand Prix weekend.Hospitalityfinder was delighted to welcome a wide range of clients along to our Paddock Suite Boxes at Silverstone, which are undoubtedly the finest corporate hospitality facilities at the Northamptonshire circuit. Positioned on the start/finish straight, these luxurious hospitality suites provide lucky guests not only with the finest hospitality experience, but also with a unique vantage point from which to view the race. From this elevated viewing position, guests can are directly overlooking the pit lane and just metres from the starting grid.Friday of the race weekend was the practice day, which allowed the riders to get a feel for the new Silverstone circuit and to hopefully post some quick laps to get a feel for what sort of pace the teams are running at.The newly renovated corporate hospitality facilities at Silverstone are of the highest standard, as clients who arrived on Saturday morning for the Qualifying Session could testify to. Guests who had visited Silverstone prior to its facelift remarked how significant an improvement the circuit had made to its facilities.A champagne breakfast was first on the menu, as the atmosphere ahead of the qualifying built up, with the teams preparing the bikes in the pit lane in right in front of the paddock suite boxes.

An incident filled qualifying saw MotoGP World Championship leader Jorge Lorenzo keep his Yamaha on two-wheels to claim his first pole position of the 2010 season at Silverstone, whilst his two nearest qualifying challengers crashed.The hospitality was of an equally high standard on Sunday – Race Day. A sublime three course luncheon was served in the glass fronted boxes, allowing guests to relax and savour the gourmet cuisine and complimentary bar inside the contemporary suites. Huge crowds flocked to the circuit to enjoy the first MotoGP race at Silverstone since 1986. As the engines roared into life on the start line the atmosphere hit fever pitch as guests took their drinks to the balcony to enjoy the full panoramic view of the starting grid from the Paddock Suite Boxes.A lightning start off the line from Dani Pedrosa gave him the opportunity to launch his bike up the inside of Lorenzo’s Fiat Yamaha into Stowe-which he duly took. The two drivers leading the field were nip and tuck for the next succession of corners, pushing each other to the limits. Still only in the first lap, Lorenzo managed to retake the advantage at Vale but Pedrosa fought his way back into the lead, only to be overtaken just moments later to the delights of the rapturous Silverstone crowd.With riders in the chasing pack constantly swapping positions with increasingly risky manoeuvres, Jorge Lorenzo showed his class and put in a series of hot laps to establish an unassailable lead and take the chequered flag to seal a fantastic Silverstone victory.

Andrea Dovizioso fought of stiff competition from Ben Spies to claim second spot, with Spies only managing to hang onto third place by 0.2 seconds.A truly thrilling race in front of a jubilant MotoGP crowd was the perfect outcome for all of our guests, who can proudly say they were the first people to enjoy the cutting edge corporate hospitality at the British MotoGP since its multi-million pound refurbishment earlier in the year.You can be a part of it in 2011 and enjoy a superb hospitality day at the Silverstone for the British MotoGP, where racing fans gather for one of the finest racing spectacles in the world.
