England triumph in Calcutta Cup clash against Scotland

The prestigious Calcutta Cup trophy was once again up for grabs as England hosted Scotland at Twickenham Stadium, the home of English rugby. Both teams put up an admirable fight for the trophy but England were triumphant after a long 80 minutes.

The day begun with some famous Twickenham pre-match hospitality in various facilities including the ultra exclusive Green Room, located inside the North Stand.

As VIP guests arrived at their hospitality facilities, welcoming hostesses ushered guests to their tables following a superb champagne reception. Soon enough it was time for the day's guest speakers to take to the stage for some pre-match analysis.

In the lead up to the day's match Wales v Ireland was being shown on TV screens inside the facilities. The match created some lively cheers and banter ahead of the Calcutta Cup.

Inside the Orchard Enclosure Ex-Bath and England rugby player Gareth Chilcott entertained guests before introducing BBC Sport expert Jeremy Guscott onto stage with him.

The pair spoke about the match ahead whilst guests enjoyed a luxurious four course gourmet meal, including a slow baked Scottish ribeye steak and Scottish strawberry and mascarpone cheesecake.

VIP guests located inside Twickenham's Green Room were treated to some celeb spotting as Hollywood actors John Hannah (The Mummy and Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock were fellow guests inside the facility. Guests even had the chance to ask for that all-important selfie with the stars!

Once all the selfies were taken and autographs had been signed, it was time for guests to make their way to their seats for the exciting Calcutta Cup clash. Both England and Scotland wanted to take the trophy home but only one could prevail.

The two teams were strong in the first half with tries from both teams. England's Joseph scored first in the match at 5 minutes followed by Scotland as they rallied with a try from Mark Bennett.Scotland led 13-10 at half time much to the surprise of England who knew they'd have to improve their game in the second half.

The home side soon fought back as a late try for Jack Nowell sealed a win set up by a try and 10 points from the boot of the impressive George Ford.

Spirits in the hospitality facilities post-match were higher than ever for the English supporters as for the first time in four years there is a chance for England to win the RBS Six Nations title.

England players Dylan Hartley and Anthony Watson joined the post-match hospitality alongside ex-Bath/England player and resident MC David Trick.

Whilst the Q&A was taking place guests enjoyed a lovely curry alongside a few more drinks from the complimentary bar. The hospitality drew to a close after Anthony and Dylan announced the competition winner of two hospitality places at the England v New Zealand Investec Test Match.
