Formula 1 British Grand Prix
Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st June 2009
With its legendary history and with it being a home race for many of the teams, the British Grand Prix always holds a special significance with Formula One drivers and fans alike. 2009 saw home favourite Jenson Button dominate the early stages of the season which saw him top the Driver’s Championship, giving him a fantastic chance of winning on home soil.
Hospitalityfinder welcomed guests over the race weekend to enjoy the thrilling action on the track along with the superb corporate hospitality on offer. Clients were greeted by the hostesses with a champagne breakfast to get the day’s hospitality underway. Silverstone is the only place to be on race day and the stars flock to the circuit every year to soak up the fantastic Formula One atmosphere at one of the biggest corporate events in the world.
Guests made full use of the complimentary bar open throughout the day, as they discussed the chances of a home victory in front of the huge crowds gathered at the circuit. Having been seated for an exquisite four course luncheon, clients then had the perfect platform to view all the action from, with panoramic views from their prime trackside location.
Then, the moment the expectant crowd had been waiting for, the start of the 2009 Santander British Grand Prix at Silverstone. When the lights went out, Vettel launched his Red Bull into the lead and began to pull away from Rubens Barrichello's Brawn by as much as a second a lap. Team mate Mark Webber finally got ahead of Barrichello during the first round of stops, but in a crushingly dominant drive, Vettel never looked remotely challenged and was over 15 seconds ahead when the chequered flag fell.
The spectacular action on the track was clear for all to see; from seasoned Grand Prix fans to Formula One first timers, Silverstone was the stage for some truly sensational entertainment.
Jenson Button struggled for pace in the early stages, but improved as he developed some decent tyre temperatures and launched a blistering attack from sixth place on Felipe Massa in the Ferrari and Williams' Nico Rosberg, who were running fourth and fifth respectively, setting up a grandstand finish. In a thrilling climax to the race, all three were separated by less than a second at the flag.
Lewis Hamilton’s race was compromised early on as Renault's Fernando Alonso slid off the track ahead of him and forced Lewis off as he jerked back on to the tarmac, leaving him embroiled in a fight at the tail of the field.
After the race the podium celebrations began, and with the gripping action on track over for another year, guests could savour the entertainment in their exclusive facility well into the evening.
