US Masters

The US Masters will be the first of the four major championships to be played in 2012. Unlike other major championships, the US Masters is held in the same location every year (at the Augusta National Golf Club).

Since the first ever US Masters in 1934, the tournaments winners have predominantly been American, with record holder Jack Nicklaus winning the tournament 6 times. However, in the last 20 years other nations have produced Masters winners, with Charl Schwartzel of South Africa the latest winner.

This time around we will see stiff competition for the decorated 'green jacket' with English pair Luke Donald and Lee Westwood, Martin Kaymer, Rory McIlroy, Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods all vying to win the first major of the year.
